April 2026 Newsletter

BIG NEWS PARK HILLS! We’re taking the course to EIGHTEEN HOLES!!

Now that we have your attention, Happy April, and Happy April Fools. That’s not really happening.

What we can promise you is that if you’re having Easter dinner with us, you won’t be disappointed. And if your plate isn’t as full as your Easter basket, it’s your own fault. No chocolate Easter bunnies, though. Sorry.

We hope you spend Easter with us in the clubhouse or on the course.  It’s shaping up to be beautiful!

Good Friday however, we have to close the course for at least the morning and the first part of the day.  We apologize for that, and know that many of you may have that day off and were looking forward to getting out on the course.  The reason we do this process on Good Friday is because we have been blessed to have the boys golf team contribute their day off to help with this process.  It is very labor intensive, and we’re so thankful to Coach Rector and his squad for saving our backs.  We even get some of the PHS Girls Golf team out there, and it’s awesome to see.  That being said, we never turn away volunteers.  We start at 8am this Friday the 3rd, and we’ll feed you too!

The April calendar is packed.  PHS Boys Golf tournament is Thursday afternoon, come out and cheer them on!  The 2- Man Triple Tournament is the 25th, and kicks off PHMGA’s (serious) tournament series.  Crazy Day Golf was a lot of fun, we hear! For the Ladies’ League, the Daisy Duel is the 22nd.  You have to be a League member to play, but they’re still accepting members!  Flyers are below.

Beyond the Easter feast, there’s all sorts of specials in April.  Patio season is here, so come enjoy one of Tiffany’s awesome meals and heckle the golfers teeing off on 4.  We’re also thinking about making some menu changes.  Have something you want to see on it?  Let us know!

We mentioned this last month, but our app is out.  Find it in you app store.  And that big round button in the middle works now.

Tee times are something we’ve discussed for a long time.  Does it benefit membership or make it harder to play?  After a lot of conversation, we think it’s something that will make our weekend play more logical and efficient for you, lessen the backlog that occurs during peak periods, and help our members find the best time to play for them.

April will be a trial period for the club as we work through how we fine tune this tool for you, and we’ll be providing feedback through app notifications and Facebook posts as the tee time policy develops.

Our initial goal is for tee times to be formally in place by May for weekends.  We’ll begin using it to provide information about available play during work days, tournaments, and other course events.  We’re very excited about it, but also hesitant because we don’t want to diminish any part of your membership.  This is meant to help the entire club, so PLEASE provide feedback!  Use it, and let us know!

I’m always sure there’s not much to say until I start typing.  Sorry to be long-winded, but it’s a blessing to have so much to say about the club.  Hallie says I don’t listen very well either.  Just a couple more notes and we’re done.

-PHMGA is looking for people to be on the board.  It’s an awesome board, and we’d encourage anyone who’s the least bit interested to get in touch with a board member.  It’s also a great sounding board for Park Hills.

-Tee box projects are ongoing.  That construction will be in place for another month or more as we await new turf.  This project is a huge undertaking and is made possible by YOU and the PHMGA.  THANK YOU!

-Outside alcohol.  For Pete’s Sake… all alcohol has to be purchased on the property.  If we’re found out of compliance we lose our liquor license, and in consequence much of the functions and benefits of the club.  Yes we go through the trash.  No we don’t sell Fireball minis.  We keep our prices VERY cheap for a reason!  Help us out.  If there’s something you’d like us to carry (Fireball minis, Coors banquets in glass bottles…) LET US KNOW!!

Hallie and I don’t get to play much golf because 1) We’re not that great, and 2) we stay plenty busy on the course without a club in our hand.  We did take a minute to play over Spring Break, and are sharing a picture of us at our 2nd favorite course we’ve played this year.  Thank your for your membership at our favorite!
