May 2026 Newsletter

Greetings Park Hills and Happy May Day! Here’s a bouquet of words for your in-basket.

Last month we teased about some major course construction… which may have been just a cruel April Fool’s joke. But the work that our course crew puts in is no joke. The greens and collars are recovering nicely from aerification (this photo is from several weeks ago) and are on pace to be in perfect playing condition. Our work on the tee box expansion continues and we will be sodding those this month! One last project that will become noticeable is a re-seeding of a portion of number 1 fairway. We’ve been repairing some of the undulation in this fairway, so our next step is a general smoothing and it will be seeded with zoysia to greatly improve its condition and playability. We will rope off this area, please take a drop out of it when it is roped off. We apologize for having these areas under construction, but all of these projects greatly improve the course and the value of your membership.

TEE TIMES are now required for weekend play. We asked members to become familiar with the app and tee sheet last month, and we will be enforcing tee times starting May 1st. Weekends at Park Hills are busy, but there’s really plenty of opportunities to play. Tee times keep course play moving efficiently and give all of our members more chances to get out and golf. This is a big shift of policy, and we’ll be adapting as we learn together. To start, we’ll have a few rules:

We’ll try and keep Tee Times simple:

  • Check in at the clubhouse for your tee time.
  • Always start on number 1
  • If you don’t have a tee time, check in at the clubhouse. Do not jump into play.

We know this adds a level of formality we haven’t had in a long time. However, it’s a necessary evil. We have a great course and great members. We want to make sure your membership has value, and that means keeping our facilities exclusive to our members.

That’s been a key concern of ours going into this year. Guests are only allowed with a member, and outside alcohol is prohibited. We hope you expect your home course to be on par with the courses you travel to, and we’d love your feedback as we elevate our game.

Park Hills’ biggest water hazard is almost ready to take a dip in! Opening the pool is always the sign of summer, and it’s just around the corner. We will be posting to Facebook when the pool gates are open, so stay tuned! Also, mark your calendars for our May social POOL PARTY, and enjoy some new things we’ll be adding to the menu!

Please note our expanded hours of operation. It’s always a balance trying to be open as much as possible and maintain Hallie’s sanity, so we’re going to try and give some added lunch options and expanded hours in May. If membership supports this, we’ll keep it going through the summer!

Seriously, look at the May calendar. If you can’t find something tasty on that list, we’re also stocking frozen PB&J Uncrustables. Tiffany does an incredible job of creating a fresh dining options you won’t find on someone else’s menu. We’re pretty proud of that, and hope you take advantage of having an exclusive kitchen table as well. Bring a guest out, entertain a client, or enjoy a lunch beer (we won’t tell the boss!)

May 10th is Mother’s Day. There’s no better way to celebrate her than taking her out to dinner and desserts. We’ll be offering our buffet that Sunday, and hope to pack the clubhouse like we did for Easter!

We’ll have a course workday May 9th. No chainsaws, power tools, sharp objects, etc. There is a signup sheet in the clubhouse for that, as well as Junior Golf with Lynn, which starts in June. Finally, don’t forget the Memorial Day Couples Tournament on May 25th!

We appreciate your support, and are looking forward to getting our summer season in full swing!

Hallie and Brandon
