We had a very special gift to give away this year at our 2021 Member Guest Tournament. John Stineman came to the Men’s Association asked if we could put on a putting competition like they use to back in the day. The winner would receive a putter that Mr. Stineman restored last year 2020, and as you can see he did a great job.

As everyone knows this year, we started a Men’s Association here at Park Hills Country Club.
The purpose of the Men’s Association shall be to promote an interest in the game of golf for members of PHCC, to promote good fellowship among the members, to establish committee groups that will manage volunteers promoting tournaments, league play, club workdays, and other activities that will benefit the club and all members of Park Hills.
This year we were able to bring 4 new golf tournaments to PHCC to help raise money for the Men’s Association in 2020. Not only have we raised money for Men’s Association, but we were also able to help generate new revenue for the PHCC. In our efforts to do so, we were able to raise over $10,000 dollars in Hole sponsorship in 2020. This allowed us to pay out more money in our Member-Guest tournament, and we were also able to generate an additional $700 dollars for the 4 additional tournaments as well. Our goal is to create more interest in the surrounding communities to want to participate in our Golf tournaments at PHCC for years to come. This will be a “Win, Win” situation for the Men’s Association and PHCC.
In the 1st year of the Men’s Association we had 86 Members join our association. The 2020 membership included the Entree fee for golf league and included the entry fee in our Club Championship tournament in September. This decision was made to create more participation in our Club Championship tournament as well. Last year we had 26 members participate in our Club Tournament. This generated around $520 in payouts for the tournament. The Men’s association’s task this year was to try and get more member participation in our Club tournament. We decided to include both golf League and the club tournament as one entree fee, by doing so we were able to triple the amount of money ($1,740) to go towards pay outs in the 2020 Club Tournament.
This year we are holding the 1st Annual Rivals Golf Classic Golf Tournament to raise money to go towards course improvements. The format this year will be a spinoff of the “Ryder Cup” between Tuesday nights golf league Vs. Thursday nights golf league. The Women’s Association will also be part of this tournament and their format will be a 4-person scramble. The Men's Association has agreed to donate $2,000 dollars to go towards a new cart path on hole # 3, all proceeds made from this tournament will go towards this course improvements. The Men’s Association will create two separate teams for this event, the lower handicap players from each team will generated 2-man teams to play against the rival nights teams. The match play format will be the 1st 9 holes are low ball and the 2nd 9 will be scramble. The match play winner will get their Tuesday night or Thursday night golf league name and year on the trophy, “bragging rights” for the year. The cost of this tournament is $25 dollars per player, even if you can’t participate any donation are very much appreciated.
We may also have some workdays coming up in the future. If we do, we will have sign-up sheet on day and times you can help and coordinate with PHCC.
We will be donating $2,000 to help pay for a new cart path for golf course improvements on Hole # 3. The new cart path will start somewhere near the bottom of hole number 3. The intent of the new cart path will be to eliminate cart travel in the middle of the fairway, allow for better drainage and smother cart path.
